DANA Welcomes New Board Members
At its 2018 annual meeting in February, the Downtown Austin Neighborhood Association welcomed three new members to its board of directors. The new members, pictured l-r below, are:
Additionally, Phil Wiley, a Judge’s Hill resident who has served on the DANA board since 2016, was reelected to a new two-year term. DANA also saluted and thanked three outgoing board members: Roger Cauvin, who had served on the board since 2014; Susan Hoffman, who had served since 2016; and Kimberley Levinson, who also had served since 2016. DANA 2018 Annual Meeting and Urban Core Happy HourFor the June 2018 Urban Core Happy Hour, DANA takes a field trip and ventures east to ATTABAR, 1300 E.6th St. Come out to meet your fellow DANA members, new members, neighbors and fans at ATTABAR on June 27 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm to eat, drink, and network. ATTABAR’s mission is to offer an inviting atmosphere of togetherness. So please join DANA and catch up over some casual nibbles, cocktails, wine, coffee, or tea. There will be games and patio seating is also available! Entry for DANA members is free. Become a member now or join at the door. The entry fee for non-members is $10. Austin Energy and District Cooling Plant 3
At its June 21, 2017 meeting, the DANA board hosted a presentation from Austin Energy on District Cooling Plant 3 slated for a spot in the Seaholm District. The cooling plant will expand Austin Energy’s chilled water system that provides air conditioning to residential and commercial buildings downtown. Cooling plants typically generate a certain amount of noise that can affect nearby residents. Austin Energy representatives described the purpose of the plant, the location and configuration, and noise mitigation measures incorporated into the design. Watch the video presentation here:
