Recently, board member Jude Galligan traveled with the Chamber of Commerce on their annual Intercity Visit to Minneapolis, MN. One of the highlights of the trip was experiencing the Bike Sharing program that is up and working there. Board Member, Michael McGill, also traveled with members of the DAA Staff and board to the International Downtown Association conference in Fort Worth, TX. One of the highlights of that conference was an enlightening presentation by Dan Biederman on the programming, operations and evolution of Bryant Park in New York City.

Thanks to everyone who submitted nominations – we are really lucky to have many great nominees! Awards will be announced and presented at the Downtown Living Tour's wrap party on October 26th. Awards will be presented in three categories:  Urban Light (rewarding a positive example that points to a brighter future for downtown), Urban Blight 'Award' (to highlight a negative example for the future), and the first ever David Weaver Memorial Award for Individual Service.
